  Details
Babylon Landfill
Babylon, NY
Client - Town of Babylon
Date - (2001-2002)
Contract Value - $1 million
• Project Overview
Tasked with generating a soil/ bentonite mix for a low permeability landfill liner for the town of Babylon.
• What made this job complex
This project required the generation of approximately 25,000 tons of material. To produce such an amount we needed to transport a large amount of clay via rail from Ohio to our rail siding in Farmingdale.
• How Posillico solved it
We utilized our pug mill to mix the clay material with recycled soil that was remediated through heat absorption in our plant. By mixing this recycled material with the clay, we not solved the issue of producing the required amount of landfill liner but also utilized the contaminated, now recycled soil for beneficial re-use.
